The street children leave a lasting impression. The images of their lives imprison one. In fact, our pressing need to share pictures of the children's desperation, and to ask for help from our friends, arose out of the contact to the children. Right from the beginning, the letters have formed the connection between the project in Rumania and our friends at home.

The middle of great need is the beginning of the light

No one has ever made me as happy as a street child who became a child of hope.

Week for week we see that hope comes through your help
– like the lights in Advent.

It is the great wish of the children to help and to give gifts. The young people pass on the donations which we receive from our friends.

The good shepherd, that's me.
We keep an eye on the big and the little - and most of all on the difficult ones who have been entrusted to us. Easter gives us strength for the "second mile".

"The second mile"
"If someone forces you to go one mile with him, go with him two miles" (Mt 5,41)

Many young people want to go the second mile, the mile of reconciliation. We are planning a house in Bucharest for them. A centre for the searching youth in the East and the West.

Lent
Father Georg went to Moldavia with two volunteers, we have become a bigger CONCORDIA family. We stick together, the problems here get smaller when we hear about the development of the new project. The parting wakes new powers and binds us more than ever. That reminds Ruth Zenkert of Easter and the resurrection.

The family never stops
Way in the back of the chapel a young man stands and cries. After Mass I take him in my arms and ask what's wrong? "I have to go," he sobs.
After 12 years Iulian will be leaving the Farm for Children and will be independent. He wants to laugh and cry at the same time.

The street is my parish
Where my foot touches the street, there life pursues me, child upon child. With my other foot I stand in heaven. When we celebrate Mass, when our children pray for children on the street and for their benefactors. When I see thanks in their eyes.

Resurrection occurs when we pull a child up from the depths
I picked up our little lamb out of the sewer system in which he had sought refuge with many others. Almost every day I climb down into the underworld of Bucharest. Here is my Holy Mass.

The joy of Christmas comes from them
"Everyone envies me because she already has so much hair and is so beautiful," says Crenguza about her baby. Just a few hours before the delivery, this mother was still in a sewerage hole sniffing lacquer in order to forget that the time of arrival was approaching.
